And to make India a developed country by 2047 or earlier?
Remember that skilled Indians are living abroad due to lifestyle, not money. Read the blog https://www.25yearsinusa.com/post/myths-about-why-people-move-to-usa-and-don-t-return
Stop blaming fellow Indians. Stop blaming the large population. Start blaming the Government.
99-100% of Indians blame other Indians for the deficiencies in India.
Why is trash everywhere? Because people are not clean, they litter.
Why is there no open space? Because people are building houses everywhere.
Why are there so many road accidents? Because people don’t know how to drive.
Why is there so much traffic? Because of our high population.
WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
There is trash everywhere because there is almost zero waste management system in India. There are no trash bins in public places. I want to throw trash in a trash bin. But what do I do if there is no trash bin? If there were trash bins every 100 meters like the way it’s in the USA, do you think people would use it???
When you land in an airport in the USA, you start seeing buildings 10 mins before you land. In India when you land in any airport, you will start seeing buildings only 1-2 mins before you land. You will see only barren land before that. It shows that there is a lot more unused space in India.

Cities are very small in India. The end to end distance of a tier-2 city in the USA is 30 kms, that in India is only 10 kms. There is a LOT of barren land, no houses, no businesses, no farmland, nothing.
The population density (number of people living per sq km) of India, UK, South Korea, Netherlands and Singapore are 492, 434, 530, 520 and 8207 respectively. There are several developed (and clean) countries which have higher population density than India. So, don't let anyone tell you that our problems in India is due to "too many people per sq ft".
Government, if they desire, can fix all issues, easily within 1-5 years. Following are some of my top problems and what the Government can do about it?
Trash everywhere
Put dust bins in public places every 100 meters.
A landfill and recycle plant in every city and district.
An end-to-end waste and recycling management system where a vehicle picks up trash and recyclables from every house, and landfills or recycles in a place within 30km radius.
Everything is sorted at the source - compost, paper, plastic, landfill. Follow the model of Japan, not the USA.
AFTER doing the above, charge a heavy fine for littering.
Lack of open space
Urban planning. Most cities seem like to have had no planning whatsoever, it at least feels like it. Except for a few main roads, 90% of the roads are too narrow. There are almost no parking spots. And the list goes on….
Businesses and houses should require permission for a lot more things. There are currently too few laws and regulations. In the USA, you need permission to put a banner on the road, to paint your store in a different color.
Expand the city. Remember that population density in India is lower than that in UK, Netherlands and many other developed countries, and will continue to decrease as the population is starting to decline. Currently in India, there are too few cities and they are too small. There is a lot of barren land just outside the city. Expanding the city will create more open space.
Traffic congestion
Improve the public transportation system. It’s improving, and is better than the USA. But the speed of improvement needs to be much faster.
Fix the problem of cows and dogs on the road. It’s easy to fix.
Charge heavy fine for illegal crossing, driving in the wrong lane etc..
